Biography

Yesim Müge Sahin is a young scientist involved in both academic and scientific life of Istanbul Arel University, Turkey. She received B.Sc and M.sc. degrees in chemistry in Istanbul Technical University and Bogazici University respectively. She completed her PhD degree in Materails Science and Engineering in Sabanci University. She conducted the Head of Department task for 2 years at Arel University. She has been currently working in Biomedical Enginering Department and since 2017, she has been working as the Head of ArelPOTKAM (Polymer Technologies and Composite Application and Research Center) at the same university. She is currently conducting projects in the fields of nanoparticles, nano/micro biomaterials synthesis and production (scaffold and bone healing materials, polymeric biomaterials), electrospun and 3D printed biomaterials, nanoparticle-mediated drug delivery systems, as well as functional organic / polymeric materials for biotechnology. Up to now, she has many scientific papers, book chapters and 12 patent applications. She has been invited for participation as a speaker in national and international conferences. She has been the manager of 3 high-budget projects (one of which is successfully complited) and established R&D center on Polymer Technologies and Composite Materials. She has been conducting the Head of ArelPOTKAM task and taking part in new academic and industrial projects.
